An Inside Look at the Library Hiring Process

This panel presentation is designed to provide a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on in the library hiring process to help make the process more transparent. The panel members will include representatives from various public libraries, small private university libraries, community college libraries, and large public universities. Discussion items will include - how long does it take to hire someone? what does "entry level" really mean? what are typical interview questions? Tips for writing successful cover letters, and more. This session will be relevant for library school students and library workers looking to transition to a different library.
