Your Patrons Need Diverse Books: The Care and Keeping of a Diverse Collection

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

What story does your library tell through its collection and programs? We live in a diverse world, but the publishing industry does not reflect this reality. Collecting and showcasing materials that portray the lives of people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disabilities, and those of other minorities can be challenging. The presenters will share their experiences championing diversity at small public and school libraries and provide session attendees with the knowledge needed to seek out, evaluate, and promote diverse materials for all ages in libraries of any size.
